CHECK BACK OVER THE COURSE OF THE WEEK TO SEE OUR FIRST PERFORMANCE ON THE YEAR!
WALKING ON SUNSHINE
BY KERSEY SCHOOL CHOIR!
Walking on Sunshine
Our first song that we are learning this term is Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves. Hopefully singing this the sun will come out a bit more!
Welcome back to another year of Choir at Kersey Primary School. During this club we will not only be singing songs that we sing during our assemblies; but also Pop songs, traditional songs and seasonal songs.
Well done for all those that have joined.
Everybody wants to rule the world.
Some of choir have asked for the lyrics to Roar to be posted on the website. Here they are for you to use and practice all the actions that go along with it.
As a special project Choir are learning the lyrics to Take That's Shine. If you could help your children learn the words to this song, I really would be very grateful.
They do have their own copy of the lyrics, however if they have lost these,
I have copied them onto the website below.
We're all Happy!
As a choir we have started to learn another new song this week. After talking to some of the children we have decided on "Happy" by Pharrell Williams. Most of the children know this song from the film, Despicable Me 2.
The children have also learnt some "dance moves" to go with their singing.
New Term. New Songs
After the Christmas break, the Kersey choir is back rehearsing. We have just started to learn the song; "Can you feel the love tonight?" The children worked hard on learning the chorus today and we are moving onto the verbs next week. There is even a possibility for some duets and trio performance.
After a second very successful choir club we have finished learning our first song Turn Down the Lights. We are now learning Christmas Calypso, which many of the children already know. Now comes the hard part of adding some sways and clicks!
The Kersey choir has now started up on a Tuesday lunchtime. We had a great first session this week. As Christmas is fast approaching we are starting off by learning songs that we will hopefully be singing in the Carol Service at the end of the term.
The children have all been sent home with the lyrics for our first song "Turn Down the Lights", which after just one session of practicing already sounds brilliant.
I look forward to next Tuesday where I am hoping it will sound just as great!
