Sports week so far...
We have enjoyed a number of activities already as part of our sports week. On Monday, we did Bounce on trampolines. It was very energetic! On Tuesday, we had sports day and an interhouse rounders match. On Wednesday, we worked with Dance East- we learnt about dance dynamics and made up our own moves in groups.
Scorpion Martial Arts Academy
As part of our topic on the Shang Dynasty, we tried out some ancient Chinese martial arts. Mark Trent from SMAA came in to work with us. We thoroughly enjoyed trying Tai Chi, as well as some Muy Thai and other Japanese skills. It was a great morning- we kept moving about the whole time. Some of us loved being able to attack Mrs Damant, even though she was holding a padded block!
Y6 SATs revision
SATs for Y6 begin on Monday 13th May. Here is a selection of Easter revision work that will keep learning 'ticking over' throughout the Easter break.
Your child will bring home paper copies but the answers are available here.
World Book Day 2019
Leading up to World Book Day, we have read the story of The Pancake King. We designed our own pancakes and created recipes for them. With our families, we created the pancakes! They were tasty! Some of us even made our own posters to advertise the pancakes.
Singing day at Framlingham College
23rd January 2019
Owls class were invited to attend a singing day with world famous songwriter Lin Marsh at Framlingham College. We were one of only 5 schools to be selected to take part. We learnt and then sang a variety of different songs written by Lin, including 'Believe' which many children sing in schools across the country. In the afternoon, we performed our songs to a small audience of parents in the chapel at Framlingham College.
Videos and photos to follow!
We have been reading war poetry this week ready to write our own poems. We selected our favourite poems and performed them to the class- we listened to the rhythm and pace of the poem.
Here are some photos from our Greek day- we had a 'Groovy Greek' visitor who shared some fun myths and legends, as well as some gruesome stories! We then put on a short Greek tragedy!
We also tried lots of different Greek foods including feta cheese and olives. After this, we baked a Greek honey cake- it was delicious!
