Achieving Potential Together

Governors

Welcome from Kersey school governors

At Kersey, there are three governors - Judith Mason, Jacqueline Holland and Teresa Moriarty. We are delighted to be working with Mrs Damant and the school community to ensure the highest standard of education for each child at Kersey.

The role of governors at all schools is to:

  • Ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
  • Hold school leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff; and
  • Oversee the financial performance of the organisation and make sure its money is well spent.

At Kersey, these functions are carried out by an Interim Executive Board (IEB) which was appointed by the Local Authority in March 2021. We are all experienced governors, passionate about our role and keen to work in partnership with the school community at Kersey.

We work closely together as a team and share all responsibilities, though we also have some specific roles.

Judith Mason is the chair of the IEB.

Jacqueline Holland is the safeguarding governor.

Teresa Moriarty is the SEND and health and safety governor.

We are all DBS checked and, together with school staff, take our safeguarding role very seriously.

If you have any questions, or would like to know more about governance at Kersey, please get in touch via the school office – any messages will be passed on to us and we’ll try to reply as soon as possible.
